Inspired by the current political rhetoric that has created a divide among humankind. How different are we and yet are we? I am referencing and exploring the cross-cultural sensibilities from two different topologies; Kumasi Ghana, where I grew up, and Oregon, where I currently reside. By activating shapes, forms, and signifiers that provoke or foster familial, communal experiences through spatial and object design.
I am addressing my ideas through the ideals of diversity, equality, and inclusion. The objective is to create a space where everyone is allowed to be heard, irrespective of cultural differences or biases. Stools? Their significance to the locations I am referencing. Each seat is unique but collectively becomes a congregation of ideas and personalities.
